The M.T.O approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course is a key component of road safety initiatives in Ontario. This course intends on developing driving behaviours and attitudes that are conducive to life-long safe driving habits. New drivers will find this course very beneficial in order to jumpstart their driving careers with knowledge, and skills necessary for a defensive driving attitude.

With the aid of the BDE course, we at Assurance Driving School intend to:

• Enhance road safety for all road users.
• Improve driving competency of novice drivers.
• Help new drivers to develop respectful and responsible attitudes toward driving that will contribute to the safety of all road users.
• Enhance driver mobility by helping beginner drivers to drive in a confident and safe manner.

The BDE course consists of a minimum of:

• 20 hours of in-class instruction
• 10 hours of in-car training.
• 10 hours of home-link activities
